IN CASE THERE IS A BUDDING IDEA OUT THERE THAT WE HAVE NOT THOUGHT OF – SUCH AS THE SUPERTEAMS I WOULD LIKE TO OPEN THIS THREAD UP FOR SUGGESTIONS (SENSIBLE PLEASE AND AFFORDABLE!)
SO FEEL FREE TO BOUNCE SOME IDEAS AROUND

I did already have an idea from another sg member – for handprints to be out and about in newbie areas ditrubuting crimbo presents to raise the profile of the sg.
I was thinking that we could have an event marathon – run all sf’s in a day on vills and a fair number on heroes? That may be a little more tricky to organise
Well sadly I will be away from the 23rd to the 28th as ile be in snowy Stockholm with my brother and nephews.
So long as the sg is full for December 10th, then it will be a happy xmas for Von im sure
All SFs in a day? That would be a loooooong day! As for raising the profile of the sg, im all up for that. get on our main toons, get in our sg cozzie, and just generally look cool!

Question – what kind of Xmas presents?
Probably need to plan for a number of events, because I expect people will be heading to Xmas parties etc at different times and going away.
I have the beginnings of an idea, if you think it might be of interest, I’ll work out more details. When I’m not playing video games, I love things like crosswords, quizzes, puzzles etc. I was thinking I could organise some kind of treasure hunt around various locations in Heroes and Villains (i.e. 2 separate competitions). I could locate a number of my characters in varous locations and give out clues as to where to find them (1 char at a time obviously). Prizes for who can find them all first. Could probably think of a few mini-competitions along the way too. Obviously, I’d need to work out more details and make sure there would be no ways for Mime to cheat.
What kind of prizes could be offered, apart from the obvious ones of inf?
Hide and seek is fun, just remember to use /hide first, oh and take your name from showing on top of your head. Otherwise, how exactly would I cheat? Aint like its poker or anything.
As for when to run the events, I suspect lots of us will be busy over the Christmas to New Year week. I have family staying for a few days around Christmas day, and them I’m at the father-in-laws in Bristol for New Year.
So we could run the events throughout December.
I suggest we suspend the superteams for a week or so as well.

We could always write origin stories for our chars. That’d be a fun competition, with a 3000 word limit of course, otherwise we could be there ages.

Or some kind of race, like the Death Badger event – create a char at L1 (NOT a PB or WS) and race from Miss Liberty to Castle or from Kalinda to Recluse…

Those of us with 2 years Vet could cheat a bit by using base TP (we’d have to promise not to use SG base presumably). Thinking about it, not inviting the chars to the SG would fix that.

I like the sound of the SF/TF day, maybe do two though, one day of SF’s, one day of TF’s, that could be fun, and take along some lower lvl members, some serious leveling, badging, prestige and rare things to be had, made and sold. That’d be good.

1 Handprints secret Santa – no donkeys or orange trees allowed
2 Pick a toon in the sg at random – let each person pick one costume part (not knowing what the other has picked) when a full costume is created make the owner of that toon wear the costume! This could work also for splitting people into teams to do this and paradng the lucky participants around in a fashion show
3 – and my favourite (all the number sg’s on union are doing it) a handprints Carolling night

Had an idea, not sure it would work – Escort Racing
You divide into pairs or small teams, one team member rolls a level 1 alt, skips tutorial. The other team members have to then escort him or her to get a pre-agreed set of badges (let’s say one from each zone or something) and meet back at the start. You can check they got them all by them switching through them one at a time.
I think to be best fun you’d have to have a “dead is dead” rule, i.e. no wakeys and rezzes, cos then the teams have to be careful to steer around/kill potential threats.
Ooo sounds fun, mind TP would make things a hell of alot easier.

If you were trying to wind me up, you were only partially successful – you only got 2 out of the 3 teams I support. You got my 1st and 3rd teams but missed the 2nd.

Your 2 pounds a month can go towards programs like: buying Leeds United a decent player. Counselling for brokenhearted Leeds Fans. Or even a box of soft andrex tissues to help them stop getting sore noses from all that crying they will inevitably do.

Do you know nothing about football Mime? You don’t mention “The team that must not be named” to a Leeds fan. It’s Fire that supports them, which is why we can’t understand a word he says, and probably why the SG colours are red and white.

And yeh, I know about football, I just dont care about it. A bunch of nancy pretty boys who fall over from a stiff breeze and a bunch of fans that are just masochists, but dont realise it. Football has major flaws in it that create aggression and causes football hooliganism. Only footy I ever watch is when England are in the big tournaments, so wont be watching them again till about 2010.

I’m from Leeds (United are good, but the Rhinos are better!).
And football doesn’t cause hooliganism. Hooligans cause that! There are little groups who specifically go out to start fights, and if it wasn’t football it’d be something else.

SG Christmas event have us follow random alts around and player who lasts the longest without being told to bugger off wins. I have made people paraniod doing this although no one has formally complained yet!

I think a xmas toon competition would be fun. Give a start time, and a time limit, then all meet in Mercy to judge it. Xmas theme and Xmas names ect.

Hmm I seem to recall someone trying to randomly follow me in StM – went through the door to pocket D and lost them – somehow I ended up at the to of the heroes elevator lol – unfortunately it wouldn’t let me in to Kings Row
I like the idea with running a marathon of SFs and TFs. But to decide a day that’d be good for as many as possible can be a bit hard. Well on xmas holiday maybe.
Things seem to have gone quiet on this thread for a while, but yesterday Von mentioned the Treasure Hunt/Hide and Seek idea that I’d suggested earlier.
I would be willing to organise this provided that there is some interest, so could a few of you please indicate if you would be interested.
I would have to plan things in more detail, but the idea so far is for 2 Hunts – 1 in Villains and 1 in Heroes. Various of my characters will be hidden in different places and I will give out clues as to where to find me. Prizes will be give for individual and overall winners, and I will try to think of a few other competitions along the way. I will avoid Grandville and Peregrine Island because of the lag in GV and the fact that anyone below level 40 would not survive very long. I would also have to avoid the hazard zones in Heroes because of the level restrictions. Because it is not an XP earner, superteam characters could be used if desired.
This is intended as a fun night, XP will not be being earned, but those of us who regularly malefactor for SFs and TFs are used to that (sorry Von, no prestige either). I will try to think up some prizes, although obviously inf will figure strongly. Sparky Spiffer has quite a bit of infamy on Villains, and I’ll have to get Lasher out on Heroes and hope he hits the jackpot.
As to when to hold it – things are a bit busy at the moment preparing for Xmas etc, but I finish work Wednesday next week and then get 2 weeks off. So early thoughts for me would be Friday 21st, intending each hunt to last about 1 hour, say 7.30pm for Villains and 8.45pm for Heroes.

I can afford some infamy but I have been thinking of some other types of prizes, e.g. a level 50 brute or scrapper as a slave for a while, my next piece of rare salvage, design a costume for Sparky or Lasher that I have to wear for an SG night (Ivana would be excluded from that prize) etc.

Candy canes are quite silly in/famy/fluence untill the madness subsides. My level 8 controller made one million just from hunting in Kings row for half an hour last night. Daft.
I would like to go ahead with the hunt spiff please – also i want to have one day each side where we run consecutive sf’s , tf’s as a marathon and i would also like to run LRSF and have another bash at statesman!

OK, I’ll start planning then, I’m off work from Thursday for 2 weeks, so I’ll have a bit more time. I intend to do 2 – one in Villains and 1 in Heroes, lasting approx 1 hour each. I’ll post event details as soon as I’ve thought of them, and I will need to agree prizes with you.
I had a chat with Von, and we’ve agreed a date of Friday the 28th, for the Hide N’ Seek/Hunt. 7.30ish for Villains, 9.45ish for Heroes. Any level char welcome, although you will probably have to visit some of the higher level zones at some point, although I will avoid Lagville, PI and the hazard zones.
I will publish a list of the event rules and the prizes nearer the date. I need to get Von and Fire to agree some of the prizes I have in mind.
